Puducherry CM announces an increase in Women’s Rights Allowance from ₹1,000 to ₹2,500 per month starting November 2025. Scheme benefits women across the UT.

Starting this November, the Puducherry government will increase the Women’s Rights Allowance from ₹1,000 to ₹2,500 per month, as announced by Chief Minister N. Rangasamy. This enhancement aims to provide greater financial support to women across the Union Territory.
A similar scheme providing ₹1,000 per month to women heads of families has already been implemented in Tamil Nadu. Following this model, Puducherry’s government has upgraded the monthly allowance to ensure broader welfare benefits for women.
Currently, under the existing scheme, women in Puducherry receive ₹1,000 per month. With the revised amount of ₹2,500 per month, the government emphasizes its commitment to women’s empowerment and welfare.
